Jeremiah and Corinne are here!!

Jeremiah and Corinne, who both are past assistants with L'Arche and dating for 3 years now, are here on a two week visit from Germany! Jeremiah is originally from here, but followed his lovely Corinne to Europe when she left to go back home for Uni last year.
On Thursday, they popped in for a visit and a bite of lunch. It was a great visit. Jeremiah is very witty and fun to have around. Corinne is a really nice person. Definitely the type of people you miss when they move away.
I'm looking forward to possibly seeing them again on Thursday. Oh yeah, and they had never met Xavier in person before, as they both moved before he was born. It was nice to make some new introductions.

On the strep throat front, I am starting to feel better, very slowly this time.

What I mean to say is that I have strep throat, again! My doctor is referring my to a specialist to have my tonsils removed. I was a little reluctant, since Xavier is only 9 months and still a breastfeeding fiend. My doctor quelled my worries by saying once I meet with the specialist we can make a date far in the future, which is good. Probably will take 3 months before the specialist office contacts me anyway!
I'm not really keen on getting an operation, since my only time in a hospital was when I gave birth and even then I only received 1 stitch for having Xavier. You should see his head!
Xavier had his 9 month check up last week. This is how things are for now:
weight: 23.4lbs or 10.5 kilos
height: 30.5 inches or 74cm
head: 19.5inches or 48cm
Okay, I'm feeling like needing to lay down. Talk to you again when I'm feeling better.

Prayers for a special little monkey

I wanted to mention that .Sebastien is going through a procedure tomorrow called a Capsule Endoscopy. He will be the youngest patient to ever undergo this procedure. I think Jasmina, David and Sebastien need all the prayers, thoughts and support we can give them!
Here's hoping everything goes well for this special little monkey.

Feeling hot, hot, hot!

It's been hot out there, an average of 30 degrees celcius since about thursday I will say.
We've been pretty busy, getting in on all the last minute summer time fun. The first two weeks of august was Folklorama, we visited both Chilean pavillions, the French-Canadian pavillion and the Belgian pavillion.

Richard enjoyed the French-Canadian the best show wise, the first Chilean pavillion had the best food and the biggest, roomiest location. We wish we could have gone to more pavillions, but since they were in the evening, it was better just to do one show a night and we could only get out on 4 different nights.

During this time, Richard and I did manage to escape over to Jaime's place to celebrate his birthday with a potluck meal and to wish him and Eva a bon voyage to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was a really great evening, it's been so long since I've done anything or gone anywhere without having any kids around. So nice and relaxing. However I have found that I have little adult conversational skills left in me! One of the guests at the party is a ballerina for the RWB and we ended up talking about Toy Castle! (a kids show on Treehouse done by the RWB) What can you do??? LOL!

This past saturday my aunty Mimi came by with my cousin Elizabeth and her two kids, Amy (2) and Alex (9mo). We had a really great time playing in our pool and when it got too hot, in the house. We enjoyed a nice bbq supper of hot dogs (regular and veggie for me). It was really a nice day. We don't get the chance to have very many visits or playdates, so when we do, we really take full advantage of them!
